Hello everyone. My name is Mike, I've been friends with Jennifer and Lance for a while now through our blogs so I know this will be a great place. I look to put everything around personal development in the areas of leadership, career and life into simple actionable guides and tips on my blog at LearnThis. I hope I can contribute here to see what putting the journey to success into action really look's like. Think and Grow Rich is definitely one of my favorite books so that has caught my attention as well. Mike Mike, I'm joining Lance in saying "Welcome!" From all I know of you Mike, I know I'm going to love your insights around here about Think and Grow Rich. I can't wait to hear them. You write about all those topics you mentioned in an outstanding way - and live them too. I would recommend your blog to everyone!

Hello everyone, I'm Lisa Newton, and I'm not sure why I picked up this book, Think and Grow Rich, but the basis of the book is always something I've strived for, and not only in the financial sense. Success has such a broad definition. For the most part, I've found happiness and success in my personal life. I have friends and family I love very much. Life is good there. However, on the business side, I'm struggling to find my way. As this new year approached, I found myself reflecting on a lot of hard work, but not too much to show for it. Stress has become a constant companion. So, I guess by writing this, I've now found out why I'm interested in reading and participating in this forum. In 2008, work was all comsuming and I lost a little bit of myself. I will not make the same mistake in 2009. My main goal for this year ans subsequent years is to find the balance between work and pleasure, and one major step in that direction is my new blog, http://www.travelinlocal.com. Photography has always been a passion, which got lost over the years. With the gift of a new camera, I think I've found one way for me to both relax, share my passion, and maybe, just maybe find a little business along the way. Thanks for creating this platform; I'm really looking forward to reading this book and participating in the discussion. Sincerely, Lisa Lisa, welcome!! I'm so glad that you have so much peace in your personal life. Success is so much more than financial. In fact, someone can take this book and use it for anything aside from money (that's the beauty of it). It's really about our inside. I think there IS a reason that you came here to the forum. Hard work and no pay is pretty exhausting. I look forward to hearing your insights and helping you along your financial/business journey. Love your photography. You have real talent and potential to do with this whatever you want.

Greetings All, I first read Think and Grow Rich in 1974 while riding home on the bus from my first professional gig. It certainly has remained a self-help classic. I'm an entrepreneur, life and small business coach. http://CoreU.com is my coaching website and I blog about authentic business building and the freedom of self-employment at http://DelightfulWork.com.Looking forward to the learning, Tom Greetings to you Tom! Welcome! You read the book before I was born. Did you really read it like in one day?? It's so full, I know I couldn't do that. I have now finished the book and am going to start over. It certainly took me longer than a day, but I'm glad it did, because I think I learned more that way. From what I know of you, you implement this book in your work and life. That's what makes you so good at your coaching and everything you do. What you read must have stuck.

Hi, Everyone: First, I'm the least tech-savvy person you'll ever meet, so please bear with me if I make some foibles!
It feels so awkward to talk about myself like this, but I'll give it a go. I'm older than all of you, and I won't say by much, but at least I don't feel that old! This summer, I'll be retiring early (I started working when I was eight, don't you know!). Since I need to continue making an income, I'd dearly love to be paid for my writing so I don't have to go back into an office. I've a variety of book ideas, quite diverse, but all with the central theme of finding the joys of life everywhere even while looking deeper into ourselves for the secrets of living as happily and peacefully as we can.
I only learned of blogging late last June, plus the only writing I've done is my own personal journaling, which is a very different "flavor" than my adolescent blog.
"Think and Grow Rich" is an appealing topic, one I've encountered before, under different guises, such as the Law of Attraction. I'm very interested in hearing/seeing all the discussions that will ensue here!
Thanks so much, Lance and Jennifer, for inviting me!
~ Julie
Julie, welcome! Maybe between the two of us we can help each other find our way around here. (I'm being pretty serious about that.) I think you have come across this book and forum at a great time. I look forward to seeing how implementing these principles will lead you to succeeding at your new found career of writing (and whatever else you want to do.) I'm liking your topics. Hey, age doesn't matter around here. I love to listen to the wisdom of those who are a bit older than me. I look forward to gaining more wisdom as I age. But, any you can share with me along the way might just spare me some heartache. I look forward to hearing your part of the discussion and we're glad you accepted the invitation. (I think you will find Think and Grow Rich different than the law of attraction/Secret.)

Hi Jennifer and Lance. As you both know, I write a personal development blog called Shades Of Crimson where the tagline is "Taking the personal out of personal development". What that means is that when we stop taking things personal and don't identify with the inner critic, we can learn to just enjoy the experience of life. We lose the mindset that there is something wrong with us or that we have to fix ourselves. We're already perfect -- we've just forgotten that we are. Besides working as a life coach, I'm also a freelance writer and blogging has given me a wonderful opportunity to exercise my muse. Not to mention meeting so many other terrific bloggers. I haven't read Think And Grow Rich yet, but suspect that I will be picking up a copy very soon. Thanks for launching this forum you two. I look forward to joining in the conversations. One final note, I've just launched a project called The Quote Effect. This is a call for all bloggers to share their unique words of wisdom and inspiration through the writing of quotes. An ebook (with no affiliate links) will be compiled after all submissions have been received. Submissions are welcome until the deadline of January 31. More information is available at ShadesOfCrimson[dot]com. Davina, welcome to the forum. Wow, I have known you for quiet some time now, haven't I? I love how you talk about taking the personal out of personal development. Taking things personally is certainly only to our demise! I'm Perfect? .... I've been trying to tell my husband that. A life coach, blogger, and writter... sounds like you're pretty busy... Your welcome for launching the forum and thank you for participating. I also look forward to hearing your insights. Hope you pick up that copy soon. Your quote ebook is such an awesome idea! I once thought of compiling all my quotes into a book.... You're just helping me out a bit, huh? I look forward to the finishes product.

Hope I am not too late in joining the party here. I've been meaning to check this forum out in a while.
I read Think and Grow Rich years ago but picked it up again last year. It made more sense to me than it did the first time round. In fact, there are metaphysical implications and spiritual elements in it that I had failed to see previously. I'd like to revisit the book again for sure.
I'm looking forward to learning from all on this forum on principles to success. I wish everyone a most meaningful year!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Ross, I'm almost 32 years of age (ouch!), and I entered the crazy world of blogging about 6 months ago... It's only been in the last year that I've done some soul searching and made a lot of positive changes for the better in my life, and that's basically what I blog about on my site Will It Change YouI'm happily married with two great daughters, like playing guitar and doing computery stuff with my spare time, and I live 10 minutes from some amazing beaches at the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I think I was meant to stumble across this forum, as I've just started reading 'think and grow rich'! Look forward to some interesting discussions...

Hi Evelyn, That's one of the real benefits of this forum, too - the whole idea of everyone's collective knowledge being able to help others make sense of what this all means. Thanks for stopping by, and I'm looking forward to your contributions!

Hi Jennifer, Thanks so much for the welcome! Unfortunately you must throw on another ten years (groan), for I'm nearly thirty-two..! When I was twenty two I was much more interested in the Uni club, partying and being generally unproductive! Ahh how time flies

(How did I see two 2's there??) I'm 32 also. Watch out - that happens when you turn 32 - the blindness thing. (Doesn't this fit well with the forum subject here and how we are what we tell ourselves we are.) Anyway, glad you've grown up - quite a bit it sounds like. BTW - Turning 30 was VERY difficult for me. Now each year keeps getting better. I look forward to growing older and wiser and becoming better in every way.

Hi everyone
Like many here I came from the Jungle and was curious what this was all about. I love Lance's blog so guessed I'd enjoy this forum too.
I confess that I haven't read Think and Grow Rich yet ... I have just got hold of a copy and am still on chapter one so it will take some time to get through it. Just wanted to say 'hi' and a few words about me ... and I'll start participating a bit more actively over the next weeks.
I'm 45, English by birth and lived in Poland for the last 15 years (long story!) and more recently splitting my time between Poland and Romania. I've 2 beautiful daughters (6 and 16). I'm hungry for self development and constantly challenging myself to understand me and the world better and better (in the full awareness that it's a never ending quest). I'm passionate about nonviolence and work as a trainer and facilitator of conflict resolution, communication awareness and skills - in business, families, couples and anyone who's interested.
Curious what this nice little forum will bring.
