I was asked to compile a list of all the thinking errors that we have discussed for easy reference.  Feel free to print these out and study them and keep them around as a reminder.  If you want to master the skill of accurate thinking it is first necessary to recognize thinking errors and then replace them with intentionally structured accurate thoughts.  Someone who is truly serious about accurate thinking will find it very useful to memorize this thinking error list.  Memorizing three to five of them at a time until you have all of them memorized is a great way to do this.  A good exercise is to sit down to a 30 minute television show once a day or so and pick out all the thinking errors in the show and then change them to accurate thoughts. Should I or Should I not?

Raven's Brew Coffee, goals, happiness, inner peace, positive thinking, responsibility, thinking errors January 22nd, 2009

The time has finally come.  It’s been long in the making… and here it is….. the last of the thinking errors (see others in the list at the bottom of this post.)  And what a great series it has been as I have learned so much from you my readers and I thank you for that.  There are probably more thinking errors that you will notice as you go along this journey we call life, but most will fit into one of the categories we we have talked about here.  If you notice others I would love for you to drop me a line and let me know.  For now, let’s wrap up the last one on the list.

16. Should statements: using “shoulds”, “shouldn’ts”, “musts”, “oughts”, and “needs” to motivate yourself or others through guilt. Read More »

Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

gratitude, inner peace, thinking errors January 15th, 2009

Many people mistakenly fall prey to thinking error #14 in our series - or the lie of:

15. Heaven’s Reward Fallacy - bad things don’t happen to good people

“Finally!” I thought, when I saw this thinking error on the list, “This is one that I do not participate in.  Whew!!!”

And then I did some research before writing this post and it just so happens that some people define Heaven’s Reward Fallacy as something a little different than what I learned.  I was forced to examine my thoughts a little further.  We will take a look at both definitions, as each are lies that people fall prey to. Listening, humility, inner peace, relantionships, thinking errors January 8th, 2009

“There is a man wise in his own eyes?  There is more hope for a fool than for him.”  - Proverbs 26:12

How are your resolutions going so far?  Are you still sticking with them?  My husband said that at work on Monday about 25 people gathered around the lunch table (as opposed to the usual five or six) with their healthy lunches and they discussed their different diet strategies.  On Tuesday there were the usual five or six at the table. The rest were eating out again.  Hopefully, you’ve made it further than that.

To help keep our minds clear and thinking accurately as we go into 2009 there are three more thinking errors that I would like to discuss.  We will begin with the first one of this new year today.

Have you ever wondered why you are always right about things and everybody else just doesn’t know what is going on?  Have you ever wondered why they don’t understand why you are always right and comply?  What is wrong with them?  Unfortunately, today’s thinking error is very close to me.  It’s called: Read More »

Your Success is Just Around the Corner

business, success January 2nd, 2009

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” ~ Napoleon Hill

Since the new year has arrived most of us are thinking about the changes that we want to make.  What’s really going to make you stick to your goals, your resolutions and succeed? Let’s face it - within a month most people have neglected their resolutions.  Will you be part of the majority or will you rise above?  If you want to rise above, I have partnered up with someone to help you do just that….

Lance, of the Jungle of Life, and I have worked very hard to put together this opportunity  for each of you who are interested in success - whatever success is to you.  For a long time now, I have wanted to create a site that is purely dedicated to providing entrepreneurs with real information (solid principles) that will help them succeed while also providing a way for them to get recognized.  While this is different Read More »
