A Thanksgiving for You
gratitude, thankfulness November 25th, 2008Last week I found myself in the complaining mode. I admit it. I’m going to be EXTREMELY busy over the next five weeks. I’m either having company or traveling (or both!) each weekend over these next five weeks. And one week in there my whole week is likely to be wiped out with activities. And you know the stress the holidays can bring anyway… Well, finally the song, “God is so Good” came to my mind and instantly my perspective starting changing. I realized how blessed I truly am!! Just today I thought to myself, “I’ve been complaining about all this traveling and company. You know I should just be thankful that I have family to go visit and to visit me. Not everyone is so blessed. And I have an opportunity to get out of the norm for a bit and to see things from a different perspective. But, that’s not what this post is about……

I’ve been excited about this post for quite some time now. I knew what I wanted to do for my Thanksgiving (the next US holiday) post several weeks ago. You see, I have been blogging for almost a year now (here in just a couple of weeks) and I have been so blessed by it. I have made some INCREDIBLE friends and had some great opportunities as I have been blogging. I have been thinking about how incredible you are and how incredibly blessed I am by you, my blogging friends, readers, and commenters. Without you it would all be pointless. I want to take this special time to say:
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” for taking the time to read my posts, subscribe to my blog and make comments (whatever you did.) Whether you have commented or read without commenting, I’m thankful for all of you. I would also like to thank the many who have sent me personal encouraging notes through my comment form and through email. All of you are truly amazing people!!!!!! Some of you have made very thoughtful comments on my posts and some have gone way out of your way in helping me in various ways. To you, words truly can not express how thankful I am to you.
(As you read this paragraph, please note that the purpose of this post is most definitely NOT to get you to buy coffee. It is only to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. As one more way to say thank you, to anyone (in the US) who may be interested, I would like to offer a FREE bag of Santa Caws holiday coffee with the purchase of three bags of coffee from the Principles for Peace Coffee Shop. It’s sure to put you in good spirits for the holidays! If you have people on your list this season who are coffee lovers this is a great opportunity! This offer will be good through December 3 or while supplies last. You don’t need to enter any special code or anything. I’ll simply throw in the free bag. If you’re not into coffee or are not interested, please just know you are greatly appreciated and let me know if I can do anything for you. (Lance, please no dancing and lipstick for this coffee.
) )
At this time, I would like to list all the commenters of my blog over the last seven months, since that is how long I have been blogging at Principles for Peace specifically. This is just one small way of saying thank you! This will likely include most everyone over the whole year anyway. Hope I haven’t left anyone out. (The order is not indicative of how much you are appreciated.)

Wow!! Look at that list!!! 80 of you!! Look at how blessed I am to have all of you in my life. Words just can’t express how blessed I am and how thankful I am for each of you. It took me most of the day to put this list together, but you are all worth it plus much more!
Your turn: What are you thankful for?
(Click the picture for more details.)

Don’t worry Jennifer, there will be no lipstick or dancing…I’ve embarrassed myself enough this week!
I love this post! Isn’t it just amazing to see the number of people you’ve connected with these last seven months! What a special place you’ve created here Jennifer. I still remember the first time I stopped by, and the first thing I noticed was the picture you have in your header (the lake, the cabin) - I was drawn in before I even read your words. And you write beautifully - so the picture drew me in - but it’s your words, and your genuine caring that has kept me coming back time and time again. You are an amazing writer, Jennifer! I am honored to be here and have the opportunity to read your words.
May your Thanksgiving be wonderful and filled with memories!
And…dang…I got coffee too soon!! But I will say that it is excellent stuff! I love it!!

Lance, Whew! I’m glad I didn’t have to see that again!
Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad that it was more than the picture that brought you back. I’m honored to have you as a regular around here.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well spending it with those you love the most.
Well, now Lance, think about the Raven’s Brew withdrawal you would be going through right now if you had waited to order until this week…
And you’ve already got one free bag from me and then a gift card for Starbucks from Vared. Do you really need more free coffee?
Just kidding Lance.
I’m sure there will be other opportunities… Glad you love this stuff. Thanks for your orders!!!
Nicholas, Thank you too for your kind words. That’s a lot of blessings you have sent my way. I’m open to all of them. Thank you so much. I wish these things for you as well.
Tom, isn’t it great to count our blessings! Thanks for sharing.
Daniel,
I’d love to give you the gift as well.
Thank you for your words. Let’s do continue to have a great time in the blogosphere! Love having you around even though you’re on the other side of the world.
My friend, JM, it was my honor to mention and thank you! I’m thankful to have met you as well! I always love your attitude.
I can’t wait to touch many more lives through the work I am doing.
I wish you all the best as well and hope your thanksgiving is wonderful and filled with all the people who mean the most to you! Thank you for sharing what you are thankful for.
Robin, it was my pleasure to mention you and everyone. I’m glad I was able to bring a smile to your face. Your beautiful artwork always brings a smile to my face.
Many blessings to you as well at this time of Thanksgiving and always.
Jennifer - What a blessing it is to have you as a friend from the blogosphere! I was sitting here thinking, will I ever have a chance to meet you?
Then I realized there might be a chance if you decide to go to SOBCon09 - it’s a blogging biz school taking place in May of next year (Chicago). Have you heard about it? If not, simply google “SOBCon09″ and you’ll find information there.
You’ve inspired me because of your work here - your words and the fact that you’ve taken the entrepreneurial step. I have yet to do that at my blog and seeing you do it has inspired me to push myself toward that end. Thank you!
I am grateful - have a great Thanksgiving.

Stephen, What a blessing it is to have you as a friend from this crazy world we call blogosphere!
I really want to meet you as well. I heard you talk a lot about SOBCon08 last year on your blog. I just now found a bit of info - thanks to my expert degree from Google University.
I’ll check into it some more. Thanks for the info.
I’m glad I’ve been an inspiration to you. You have been a HUGE inspiration to me along my blogging journey. I appreciate you in so many ways and have learned a lot from you. I think you were the first blog I visited regularly and really liked and got involved in. I learned from you the importance of responding back to each individual comment/commenter. It’s great how in the blogosphere we can all inspire each other, isn’t it!
I know you’re grateful. You always are. That’s one of the big things that draws me to you. I always love your end of the week gratitude posts.
Happy Thanksgiving Stephen.

Hello Jennifer. Thanks for the mention. Seems I’m in very good company. What am I thankful for? The simple things. Taking a walk in nature. Listening to the birds. A hug from a friend. And… chocolate ice cream and red wine. There’s lots more, but that’s a good start.

I just did something similar in my recent series for listing commenters and then I just came across this one today, cool to see the same idea here! You’ve taken that a HUGE step farther though listing everyone ever and I know if was a lot of work to do.
appreciate the gratitude - right back at you! Thanks for the mention and hope we ‘talk’ soon. great post and all the BEST Jennifer!!

Hi Jennifer - For me it was a blessing finding you and your blog. It’s always a joy to read and you always leave me thinking. Like you, I often find myself wishing I had more hours in the day as I have so much to accomplish, but like you said, we should take those situations and be grateful we have them. And, I am.
I’m thankful for all of the opportunities blogging has given me, but mostly for all of the fantastic people I’ve met. Who knew blogosphere could produce such wonderful friendships? For that, I will be forever grateful.

Davina, your welcome and yes you are in good company here. Aren’t the simple things the best! I’m learning that more and more. I don’t drink, but I am certainly one to be thankful for chocolate - many times over!

Barbara, it is a true blessing having you as a part of my blog and it is a great blessing learning from you at your blog and by your example. I’m so glad that I leave you thinking. I consider that a huge compliment as that is one of my goals here - to get people to think.
We can easily get overwhelmed, can’t we. With a little simplicity and gratitude we can make it through.
Isn’t the blogosphere a wonderful place with wonderful people and opportunities!
Karl, it really has so much to do with community, doesn’t it!
Wow! Thanks so much Karl, for that huge compliment!
Ari, your welcome. My pleasure. I am very grateful that we connected as well. We have a lot in common, but are able to learn from each other as well.
Thank you for being generic Ari. Those are the things that are important.
Hi Jennifer,
OK, so I’m a little slow and just found this mention. (blushing) Thank you!
I am grateful every day, mostly for waking up in good health so I can truly enjoy each day. Lately for all the great friends I’ve met in the blogosphere — and for all the fun we have “together”!
I hope we can meet in person some day!

Linda, you are welcome. It was my pleasure. No need to blush. I often find myself slow at things.
Those are wonderful things to be grateful for. Our health is something we often take for granted. Although, with what you do, I’m sure you are reminded of it daily.
Isn’t the blogosphere great! I hope we can meet some time too. That would be wonderful. We could call it: “Abbit and Abbott Meet.”
Hi Jennifer - I almost missed this post. Thanks for linking to me. That’s a massive list - it must have taken you ages to put it together. What am I thankful for? Heaps of things - health and life are high up on the list though. And all these great folk in the blogosphere who write great stuff and read my posts.
Thankyou to you Jennifer!
