It’s Your Choice….

It has long been accepted that Napoleon Hill is the expert in personal development. I came across this video by Napoleon Hill himself. It is so profound that I wanted to share it with you. You might come to the conclusion that I’m saying that money is necessary for inner peace. If you watch the whole video I think you will discover something different. This video makes a great follow-up to my post on realities.
What are your thoughts?

Wow what am amazing video, I am glad I could muster the time to watch it. What a great affirmation at the end. I should print that out and hang it up somewhere. Thanks for sharing this!

Dr. Nicole, glad you enjoyed it. Anyone who take the time will. That is definitely a great affirmation!!!

Great clip, I like that Mr Hill, suggests that we not just ask for what we want but to state what we will give in return.

Carol, great thought. It’s the only way to get what we want. We can’t get something for nothing. It just doesn’t work.

Hi Jennifer!
Some time back, I first read the book by Mr. Hill - “Think and Grow Rich”. After watching this video, I am going to find that book in our bookcase and re-read it! It’s not about money at all - it’s about the “true” riches we have in our lives - and those are things that money can’t buy. Jennifer, thanks for sharing this from a true legend in the personal development field. I’ve only read his books, but never have I saw him or heard him speak. What a gift you’ve shared here!

“Think and Grow Rich” was one of the very first books I read on my journey to creating my best life experience, along with a number of other books by the likes of Dale Cargegie, Napoleon Hill, Robert Kiyosaki, Brian Tracey, Stephen Covey, and so many others. It is true… what you think about most, comes about. This universal law works perfectly and objectively for each and every person weather you realize and/or believe in it or not. Like the law of gravity, it works weather you understand or know how it works. Stand under a falling tree and you will be crushed. The choice to move out from under it is always YOURS.

Lance, it was my pleasure to share this with everyone - to share it with you. I too was excited when I found this video and got to see Mr. Hill “in person” for the first time. I love how you and others refer to him as “Mr. Hill.” It shows how people respect him so much. Enjoy your read. I have read part of Think and Grow Rich before and glanced through it. Now I am in the process of reading it and committing it to memory and life. I’m very excited about the journey! I ordered the audio, so I’m listening as I follow along with the print. If you and others want to maybe we could start a discussion group somewhere of our journey and findings….
Evelyn, glad you enjoyed the video.
Roldan, WELCOME!! I’m so glad you found your way here. Thank you for sharing a little about your experience and findings with Think and Grow Rich. Every thing you said is right on. It is a universal law - whatever is at the forefront of our minds manifest itself outwardly - whether we are conscious of it or not. Those other authors are among my favorites as well. They have been HUGE inspirations to me and are the reasons I created the bookstore here and included their works there. I am so thankful for their works and want to share them with others. It’s a big passion of mine. Again, welcome, Roldan!

Hey Jennifer - I’m all for a discussion group! The thing about that, also, for me - would be that I would be much more focused on really reading it (as opposed to skimming over some of the stuff). Anyway, anything I can do to help make it happen - I’m there Jennifer. Hmmm….my wheels are turning (or maybe they’re spinning!)…

Lance, now this is sounding good! I’m very motivated now to read it, but I KNOW a discussion group would help me and keep me accountable. I know I would get a lot more out of it. Let’s keep our wheels spinning… I’ve got mine going too. I’m excited!! I’m off to read chapter 5 now, but I have figured out so far that this is a book to read over and over again. My plan is to read it all the way through and then go back and study it in more detail chapter by chapter. That’s my plan for now anyway.
Is anyone else game for this?

Hi Jennifer,
Wow, that video is a great display of the power of succinctness. In 7 minutes, the man lays down one of the most profound lessons I’ve learned in life. If this was my first brush with this idea, I would have been shocked and shaken.

Ari, it was very powerful, wasn’t it! I too knew the lesson, but to hear it in those words and from Mr. Hill himself somehow helps to make it even more real to me. Hopefully someone who has not heard of this concept will watch and their life be changed.

I’ve seen this before and I still had to watch it again. “The power to take possession of your own mind.” If we could all only remember that one line. Definiteness of purpose is such a powerful phrase.

Tom, that is among the greatest powers we have! If all could only remember…. Oh how everyone’s lives would change! Without definiteness of purpose we’re simply flitting around aimlessly. As an older gentlemen I know always says, “if you aim at nothing you’re sure to hit.”
